About La Puente & Rainbow’s End
La Puente Home is a nonprofit organization serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty across Colorado’s San Luis Valley.
Rainbow’s End Thrift Store helps fund La Puente’s programs through the resale of second-hand goods—creating local jobs, reducing waste, and offering community members affordable resources.
Position Summary
We’re seeking an energetic and mission-driven Thrift Store Manager to lead our Rainbow’s End team in Monte Vista.
The Manager oversees daily operations, including staff supervision, donations, merchandising, and community relations. This role combines retail leadership with social impact—maximizing proceeds that directly support La Puente’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Development
- Supervise and train store staff and volunteers; schedule shifts and conduct evaluations.
- Foster a supportive, mission-aligned team culture that prioritizes customer and donor experience.
- Partner with HR on hiring, performance, and employee relations.
Store Operations & Merchandising
- Manage donation flow from intake to sales and recycling.
- Ensure pricing, tagging, displays, and store layout maximize profitability and shop-ability.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe retail environment.
- Coordinate with other La Puente programs to meet community and client needs.
Community & Customer Engagement
- Provide excellent customer service and donor relations.
- Promote awareness of La Puente’s programs and impact.
- Build partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and local supporters.
- Use social media and in-store signage to highlight sales and stories.
Financial & Administrative
- Track and deposit daily sales; submit required paperwork accurately.
- Monitor monthly financial reports and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Use cost-effective strategies for staffing, purchasing, and utilities.
- Report store statistics for grants, fundraising, and evaluation purposes.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of retail or thrift-store management experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to motivate staff and volunteers.
- Passion for La Puente’s mission and commitment to community service.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, and social media.
- Nonprofit or social-enterprise experience a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $45,000-$48,000
