Position Summary
Forefront Government Services is seeking an experienced Plumber Lead to oversee and perform a wide range of plumbing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services within government facilities. This position provides technical leadership to plumbing staff, coordinates daily work assignments, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and delivers exceptional customer service while maintaining critical building systems.

Essential ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Coordination
- Lead, prioritize, assign, and coordinate daily work activities for plumbing staff.
- Train and mentor team members on proper plumbing techniques, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
- Monitor work progress and inspect completed projects to ensure quality standards are met.
- Assist with workforce scheduling and project coordination to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Promote a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
Plumbing Operations
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and replace plumbing systems and fixtures.
- Repair and service sinks, toilets, urinals, faucets, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposals, dishwashers, and related equipment.
- Diagnose and repair water distribution and wastewater systems.
- Clear and maintain drainage systems using cable machines, jetting equipment, and other specialized tools.
- Repair interior and exterior water and sewer lines.
- Perform leak detection and pressure testing on plumbing systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine installation requirements.
- Install and connect piping systems using various materials including steel, iron, brass, copper, plastic, and other approved materials.
Inventory & Equipment Management
- Maintain plumbing tools, equipment, supplies, and inventory.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and in safe working condition.
- Coordinate material and supply needs to support ongoing operations and projects.
Additional Duties
- Travel between assigned facilities as needed.
- Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible plumbing experience.
- Journeyman Plumber License.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Advanced knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, equipment, materials, and applicable plumbing codes.
- Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial plumbing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications including Microsoft Office and internet-based systems.
Preferred
- Previous lead or supervisory experience.
- Experience supporting government, military, healthcare, educational, or institutional facilities.
- Knowledge of ISO 9000 standards.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and climbing.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, rooftops, crawl spaces, and outdoor environments.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and vehicles required for the position.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a variety of environments including government facilities, mechanical rooms, offices, warehouses, outdoor locations, rooftops, and crawl spaces. Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions, noise, electrical systems, moving mechanical equipment, and other conditions commonly associated with commercial plumbing operations.

Pay: $33.00 - $33.87 per hour
