We're looking for a Maintenance Technician to help manage the Maintenance department!
The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of facilities by performing a wide range of maintenance tasks. This hands-on position requires expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical abilities and be capable of working independently or collaborating with a team to efficiently resolve issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure prompt coordination and response to emergency on-call and after-hours maintenance assignments
- Complete work orders and maintenance tasks within 24-48 hours, updating records in the computer system. Address pending tasks and set clear completion expectations
- Document all maintenance activities and communicate clearly with residents, team members, and supervisors, providing status updates and explanations of ongoing work
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and proficiently repair a variety of issues, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, flooring, carpentry, drywall, and exterior maintenance
- Perform sheetrock repairs to maintain the community's aesthetics and structural integrity, ensuring that any damage is promptly addressed
- Ensure compliance with company and regulatory policies, including OSHA regulations and safety/environmental laws
- Collaborate effectively with maintenance team members, other departments, and external contractors to ensure seamless property maintenance, fostering teamwork and cooperation
- Conduct proactive preventive maintenance activities to avoid potential issues and uphold the quality of the property
- Assess property safety and cleanliness standards, ensuring compliance with regulations and enhancing resident well-being
- Report supply needs to Maintenance Manager and/or Community Manager and maintain shop organization
Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of multifamily maintenance experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management
- Valid driver’s license – Required
Work schedule:
- Flexible; includes weekends and on call as needed
