Company Overview:American Way Storage is a growing self-storage company in Central Illinois, providing secure and accessible storage solutions. We seek a Customer Service Representative (CSR) to enhance customer experience, support operations, and assist with leasing activities.
Position Summary:The Customer Service Representative handles operational support, assisting with facility operations, customer interactions, and rental management. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator. Some weekend availability is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement & Leasing: Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing unit availability, pricing, and features while converting inquiries into rentals through the leasing process.
- Payment Collection: Manage rental payments, oversee delinquent accounts, and follow up on late payments.
- Administrative Support: Maintain accurate customer records using storage management software.
- Facility Operations: Perform routine inspections to ensure cleanliness, security, and functionality.
- Issue Resolution: Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Assist Management: Support operational tasks, special projects, and additional duties.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Software Adaptability: Ability to learn and use storage management software.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and verbal skills.
- Time Management: Ability to multitask and prioritize independently.
- Reliability: Must have a reliable automobile, cell phone, and Wi-Fi access.
- Work Ethic: Self-motivated with a flexible schedule, including some weekends.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly, non-exempt position – pay commensurate with experience (starting at $18.00 per hour).
