Returns Assistant
Department: Returns
Reports to: Service Manager
The Returns Assistant is responsible for handling and processing all system, Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA), and Advance Exchange returns. This role ensures accurate restocking, repair preparation, and documentation of returned equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent data entry skills, and a basic understanding of computer hardware and software.
Responsibilities:

Inventory Receiving & Preparation

Receive returned inventory and prepare equipment for assessment and repair by the Service Department.

Documentation and Data Entry

Accurately document all received items, ensuring proper data entry into the company's proprietary software system.
- Return Tracking

Monitor and track the status of defective equipment returns to the warehouse to ensure proper handling.
- Software Duplication

Duplicate software media as required, maintaining quality and accuracy standards.

Inventory Management

Maintain accurate inventory counts within the department, ensuring proper organization and stock levels

Additional Duties

Perform other tasks as needed or assigned to support the department’s efficiency and workflow.
Working/Physical Conditions:

Environment: Primarily based in a warehouse and office environment, requiring the handling and inspection of returned equipment. Occasional requirements for assisting in other areas as needed.
- Team Collaboration: This role involves working closely with the Service Department team and other warehouse personnel to ensure smooth processing of returns.
- Lifting: Must be able to regularly lift and move items up to 50 lbs. The lifting is frequent but not sustained for long periods.
- Sedentary and Active Work: This role requires a mix of sitting for data entry tasks and standing or walking when handling inventory and returns.
- Expected Work Schedule: Regular business hours, with occasional overtime during peak periods or special projects.

Proven experience as a technology repair technician or similar role.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hardware and software issues.
- Proficient understanding and application of Windows and Microsoft Office software products.
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, and other technology products.
- Strong problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently or in a team environment and manage multiple repair tasks efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
