UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.
Responsibilities:
- Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury.
- Prioritizes patient care need based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs.
- Delivers care consistent with physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing.

Current Texas RN license.

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) required within 14 days of hire and before providing direct patient care.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required before end of orientation.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required before end of orientation.

NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification required before end of orientation.
Preferred Job Requirements:

One year of emergency nursing experience

Two years of acute care nursing experience
