About the Role
Camp Laurel South, a premier co-ed residential summer camp in New England, is hiring a Culinary Director / Cooking Instructor to lead our Culinary Arts Program.
This role is ideal for chefs, culinary professionals, food service managers, or cooking instructors who enjoy working with kids and want a unique summer experience. You’ll teach campers hands-on cooking skills, introduce global cuisines, and lead engaging culinary classes in a professional kitchen setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach cooking classes and culinary arts to groups of 15–20 campers
- Demonstrate cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen safety
- Plan and execute menus featuring global cuisines and diverse recipes
- Supervise campers and ensure a safe, structured environment
- Manage kitchen organization, cleanliness, and daily operations
- Support camper development through mentorship and leadership
- Collaborate with staff to support overall camp programming
Qualifications
- Experience as a chef, cook, culinary instructor, or food service professional
- Experience working with children, teens, or in a camp/recreational setting preferred
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to lead groups and create an engaging learning environment
- Experience with inventory, kitchen management, or food service operations is a plus

Pay: $3,000.00 - $4,000.00 per month
