OB/GYN private practice with open position - an Experienced Virginia Certified Nurse Midwife who desires a long-term relationship in a well respected, fast-paced private practice in Chesapeake, Virginia. With over 50 years of combined clinical experience, our physicians and nurse practitioner have been serving this community. We use a TEAM approach which is extremely supportive, and we hold high the importance of continued education for all.
Candidates must have at least 1 year of full-scope midwifery experience after completion of training with strong Labor and Delivery work experience. Must have a Valid, Active, Virginia Certification and License. Must have continuous prior employment as CNM to acquire hospital privileges. Must have strong communication and critical thinking skills, and be a strong team player. Bilingual Spanish is a plus. Salary based on Experience.
You will provide care to women during normal pregnancies, deliveries and have the support of our Physicians if complications develop. Join a compassionate group who provide a team approach to patient care.
You will provide the full scope of midwifery services including GYN services throughout the life cycle, prenatal education, and support, attending childbirth, providing encouragement during labor and delivery, and supervising the general care of women.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Provide office and hospital services
- Daytime and On-call services
- Antepartum, Intrapartum & Postpartum care
- Well woman care & family planning
- Examine Obstetrics and Gynecology patients and their medical records
- Order and review diagnostic tests
- Diagnose health conditions and illnesses
- Prescribe medications
- Maintain accurate records and schedules
- Work closely with our Physicians and office staff
- Participate in advancing Your professional knowledge and that of the Team
