American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring telemetry experience and Epic proficiency at a teaching hospital.

Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
-
Care for telemetry patients requiring cardiac monitoring
-
Day shift (3x12 Hours, 7:00-19:30) or Night shift (3x12 Hours, 19:00-7:30) available

13-week assignment length
-
Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Must be able to pass a telemetry test

Experience monitoring telemetry patients required
-
General nursing skills required including IV starts, monitoring, lab work, medication administration, and patient education
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
-
2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager, Director, or Charge RN in a leadership capacity; no coworker references accepted
-
Provide comprehensive nursing care to telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams

Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
-
Administer medications including Heparin protocols, PCA, and IV insulin drips with titration
-
Provide wound care and manage wound vacs as needed
-
Perform non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration
-
Manage surgical drains as needed
-
Follow isolation precautions and utilize appropriate PPE
-
Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract, with candidates outside Ohio required to travel to a fingerprinting location or complete a mailed packet

RTO must be built into the contract at time of consideration, limited to 7 days or less

Local candidates accepted at the same rate

Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for traveler positions
