Experience
- This role typically calls for up to two years of relevant experience.
- Working knowledge and/or training related to disconnects, and gas piping.
- Demonstrated ability in use, function, and maintenance of tools applicable to position.
- Experience with the application of basic arithmetic:
- addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Working knowledge of locating gas lines.
- Working knowledge of transmission and distribution pipeline system operations.
- Working knowledge of leakage survey procedures.
- Working knowledge and training relative to:
- Customer service and safety procedures
- Customer service emergency procedures
- Use of electronic communications and PragmaCAD system (where applicable)
- Characteristics of natural gas
- Basic customer service activities
- Experience and knowledge of basic computer usage and applicable computer software.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, plats, atlas pages, pipe sizing tables, flow charts, house numbers, dials, gauges, work logs, service orders, and applicable operation and repair manuals.
Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.

Licenses and Certifications
Applicable driver's license.
Additional Requirements
- Lift and/or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds 10-15 times a day; up to 20 pounds 15-20 times a day; up to 40 pounds 10-15 times a day; over 50 pounds 2-3 times a week.
- Climb ladders; stoop, kneel, and crawl on floors and bare ground to access, adjust, and/or repair gas fired equipment, meters, and equipment.
- React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.
- Smell odorant in natural gas.
- Able to operate tools and equipment required.
- Communicate and/or exchange information or instructions
- Visual ability sufficient to perform job duties.
- Travel over uneven terrain including but not limited to:
- mud, gravel, sand, rocks, ice, and/or snow
- Walk, stand, kneel/stoop, and drive for extended periods.
- Push spud bar in ground and extract.
