Job Description
The University of Missouri School of Medicine is seeking a collaborative and service oriented Staff Recruiter to join the School of Medicine Human Resources team. Reporting to the School of Medicine Director of Recruitment, with a dotted-line relationship to the University Recruitment Center of Expertise (COE) Associate Director of Recruitment, this position serves as the lead recruiter for staff recruitment across the School of Medicine.
The Staff Recruiter partners closely with hiring managers, HR Partners, department leadership, and the Recruitment Center of Expertise to provide consultative, full-cycle recruitment services that support the School of Medicine's workforce needs. This position is responsible for developing effective recruitment strategies, identifying qualified candidates, and delivering an exceptional hiring experience while ensuring compliance with university policies and applicable employment regulations.
The successful candidate will build strong relationships with hiring managers and stakeholders, provide guidance throughout the recruitment process, and continuously identify opportunities to improve recruitment outcomes and operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
Recruitment Strategy & Consultation

Serve as the primary recruiter for assigned School of Medicine staff positions.

Partner with hiring managers and HR Partners to understand workforce needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.

Provide guidance on recruitment best practices, sourcing strategies, interviewing, and selection processes.

Consult with hiring managers regarding market conditions, recruitment timelines, and hiring challenges.
Full-Cycle Recruitment

Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from position intake through onboarding.

Develop and post effective job advertisements using internal and external recruitment resources.

Screen applications, conduct candidate interviews, coordinate interview activities, complete reference checks, and assist with employment offers.

Collaborate with departments and HR Partners to facilitate a smooth and positive onboarding experience for new employees.

Maintain regular communication with candidates and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
Talent Attraction & Sourcing

Develop proactive sourcing strategies to attract qualified candidates through networking, professional organizations, job boards, social media, and other recruitment channels.

Build and maintain talent pipelines for difficult-to-fill and high-priority positions.

Participate in recruitment events, career fairs, and outreach activities that promote employment opportunities within the School of Medicine.

Support recruitment marketing initiatives that strengthen the School of Medicine's employment brand.
Process Improvement

Recommend and implement improvements to recruitment processes that enhance efficiency and the overall hiring experience.

Participate in recruitment-related projects, committees, and process improvement initiatives.

Stay informed on recruitment trends, labor market conditions, and best practices to support continuous improvement.
Compliance & Documentation

Maintain complete and accurate recruitment documentation within the applicant tracking system.

Ensure recruitment activities comply with university policies, affirmative action requirements, Equal Employment Opportunity regulations, and applicable employment laws.

Utilize recruitment data and performance metrics to evaluate hiring outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Collaboration & Customer Service

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with hiring managers, HR Partners, department leadership, candidates, and university stakeholders.

Collaborate with the School of Medicine Recruitment Team and the University Recruitment Center of Expertise to support recruitment initiatives and organizational goals.

Represent the School of Medicine Human Resources team at university events and recruitment-related activities as needed.
