Host / Receptionist
Chateau is seeking a warm, polished, and hospitality-driven Host to join our team. As the first and last point of contact for our guests, the Host plays a vital role in creating exceptional dining experiences and setting the tone for service. As a Host, you will play a vital role in ensuring guests feel valued and comfortable, managing reservations, seating arrangements, and guest inquiries with professionalism and enthusiasm. Your positive attitude and excellent communication skills will help set the tone for an exceptional dining or hospitality experience. We are looking for individuals who are personable, organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining grace under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments using OpenTable.
- Answer phones and assist guests with reservations, inquiries, and event information.
- Effectively communicate wait times and manage guest expectations.
- Maintain an organized and efficient flow of seating to support service operations.
- Escort guests to tables and provide menus.
- Assist with guest requests and special accommodations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, restrooms and waiting areas.
- Support dining room operations by assisting with menu updates, restroom checks, and light administrative tasks.
- Collaborate closely with management, servers, bartenders, and support staff to ensure seamless service.
- Answer phone inquiries with professionalism, providing accurate information about wait times and services
- Handle guest concerns or special requests with tact and positive problem-solving skills
Skills
- 2+ years prior experience as a Host or Hostess in food service or restaurant settings preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and hospitality standards
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including phone etiquette
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous hotel or guest services experience is advantageous
- Knowledge of food service operations, serving etiquette, and hospitality best practices
- Professional appearance with a friendly demeanor and positive attitude
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance and polished demeanor.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and composed during busy service periods.
- Experience with reservation platforms such as OpenTable is preferred.

- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $17.00–$19.00 per hour plus tips, depending on experience.
