In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily plant production activities, ensuring optimal growth conditions, and maintaining the overall health of our greenhouse crops.
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Greenhouse Grower to manage daily crop production activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with greenhouse systems, strong plant knowledge, and the ability to make decisions to optimize yield and quality.
Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of plant production, including seeding, transplanting, irrigation, fertilization, and trimming
Monitor crop health and implement pest and disease management strategies (IPM) Maintain optimal environmental conditions (temperature, airflow, light)
Adjust nutrient programs and irrigation schedules based on plant needs and growth stages
Collect and analyze crop data to improve efficiency and output
Supervise and train greenhouse staff as needed Ensure compliance with safety and agricultural regulations
Coordinate with management on production schedules and crop planning
Experience
- 2+ years of experience in commercial greenhouse growing or horticulture
- Familiarity with irrigation systems, land management, lawn care, gardening, and outdoor work environments.
- Mechanical knowledge related to greenhouse equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to identify various plants accurately and assess their health status effectively.
- Basic math skills for measuring inputs such as fertilizers and adjusting environmental controls.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and performing outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
