About the Position
NECIC is looking for an outgoing, dependable, and community minded Community Organizer who enjoys working with people and being active in the community.
The Community Organizer is one of NECIC's frontline representatives and works directly with residents, community partners, businesses, schools, neighborhood groups, and local organizations. This position helps coordinate community programs, events, outreach activities, and neighborhood initiatives.
Knowledge of Mansfield's North End community and established relationships within the community are a plus.
Please Note: This is not strictly a Monday through Friday, 9 to 5 position. Our work happens when the community is available.
You MUST be willing and available to work evenings and weekends. There are no exceptions to this requirement.
What You'll Do
Build and maintain positive relationships with residents and community partners.
Attend and support community meetings, programs, neighborhood events, and outreach activities.
Help plan and coordinate community events, workshops, and special programs.
Connect residents and families with community resources.
Recruit and engage program participants, volunteers, and community partners.
Assist with NECIC programs and neighborhood initiatives.
Maintain accurate attendance, participant information, program documentation, and activity reports.
Assist with collecting surveys, program data, success stories, and information needed for grant reporting.
Represent NECIC professionally at meetings, events, and throughout the community.
Work collaboratively with other NECIC departments.
Complete additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
What We're Looking For
1 to 3 years of experience in community organizing, nonprofit work, customer service, community engagement, workforce development, or a related field preferred.
Strong communication and relationship building skills.
Comfortable meeting new people and working with individuals from different backgrounds.
Knowledge of Mansfield's North End, its residents, organizations, businesses, and community resources is a plus.
Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be willing and available to work evenings and weekends. No exceptions.
Schedule
The schedule will vary based on community programs, meetings, outreach, and events. Evening and weekend availability is required.
Pay
$15.00 to $18.00 per hour, based on experience.
