JOB SUMMARY: Under minimum supervision, is responsible for purchasing materials for production and plant support.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Procure materials and commodity products of medium to high complexity and value for government and commercial programs.
- Negotiate with suppliers, evaluate bids, and select suppliers based on price, delivery, quality and program management.
- Resolve problems and make recommendations. Interface with manufacturing, engineering, quality and program management
- Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledgeable in procurement and supply chain and surface mount technology
- Excellent communication and written skills are necessary
- Negotiation and follow up skills required
PREFERRED
- Purchasing experience in complex electronic components with the ability to read and understand technical documentation is preferred, but not a requirement for consideration.
- Experience with quoting and ordering raw printed circuit boards and/or fabricated parts a plus.
