American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a CVOR/Cardiovascular PreOp position in Asheville, NC, requiring 2+ years of experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Position is located in the Cardiovascular PreOp unit (CV PreOp) within the Heart Tower building of a large, 815-bed regional referral hospital
-
Unit has 4 beds with a 1:1 patient ratio
-
Staffing support includes CNCs, unit secretary, and a manager shared with the CVOR team
-
Equipment includes GE Carescape monitoring and Fuji ultrasound
-
Documentation is performed in Cerner
-
Schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
-
Expect to stay late 1–2 times per week
-
Floating is required within scope of practice and experience
-
13-week contract
-
Active NC or Compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)

Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR/cardiovascular RN experience required
-
Critical care experience is required; PreOp experience is a plus
-
Proficiency with BCMA and strong documentation skills required

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Responsibilities include large-bore IV starts, chin-to-toe hair removal, medication administration, skin assessment, and assisting with arterial line, central line, and epidural placement
-
Additional duties include transporting patients to the OR and assisting with induction/intubation, positioning, and skin prep
-
Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment are essential

Excellent communication and interdepartmental collaboration skills are expected

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
