Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to join our dynamic maternity care team. This vital role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods, ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of both mother and newborn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum period
- Monitor maternal and fetal conditions, including vital signs, fetal heart rate, and uterine contractions using electronic fetal monitoring (EFM)
- Assess labor progression, perform cervical exams, and identify any complications
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and induction agents (e.g., Pitocin), and assist with pain management including epidurals
- Assist physicians and midwives during vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections while maintaining a sterile environment
- Recognize and respond to obstetric emergencies such as fetal distress, hemorrhage, and preeclampsia
- Provide emotional support, education, and guidance to patients and families throughout the birthing process
RN01
Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience
- PA or compact State RN License
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- ACLS Certification
- NRP Certification
