About the Role
We are looking for a warm, reliable, and growth-minded Assistant Guide to support our mixed-age Montessori classrooms serving children from 6 weeks to 6 years old at Guidepost Montessori at Eldorado.
For this position, we require a minimum of 2 years of experience working specifically within a Montessori environment (Infant, Toddler, or Primary). While a formal Montessori credential is not required to apply, you should already be deeply familiar with the rhythm of a Montessori classroom, the importance of the prepared environment, and the principles of fostering independence in young children. This role is an excellent next step for an experienced Montessori assistant looking for a supportive community and long-term career growth.
As an Assistant Guide, you will help create a calm, respectful classroom environment where children can develop independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Your Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Guide in maintaining a peaceful, organized Montessori classroom
- Help prepare and maintain specialized Montessori materials and the learning environment
- Assist children with daily routines (including meal times and bathroom transitions) while encouraging independence
- Observe children and support their social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Model respectful communication and positive interactions at all times
- Collaborate with teaching teammates to ensure a consistent, high-quality classroom experience

- A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Montessori classroom (required)
- A high school diploma or equivalent (required)

Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing engaging lesson plans aligned with Montessori principles, including literacy, math, and sensory activities.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive environment that encourages respect, independence, and social-emotional growth.
- Work closely with children to support their individual learning styles, including those with autism or disabilities, ensuring inclusive participation.
- Help organize classroom materials, prepare learning spaces, and facilitate smooth transitions between activities.
- Observe and document children's progress to inform ongoing curriculum development and communicate effectively with parents and team members.
- Support toddlers and preschool-aged children with daily routines such as meal times, nap times, hygiene practices, and behavior management strategies.
- Contribute to creating a nurturing daycare or preschool setting that promotes early childhood development through play-based learning.
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of special education techniques, behavior management strategies, and working with individuals with autism or disabilities is advantageous.
- Familiarity with curriculum development for early childhood education, including Montessori or Toddler care methodologies.
- Classroom experience involving lesson planning for literacy education, math concepts, and holistic childhood development.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Experience in classroom management and working with children of diverse backgrounds enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
