About the Role
This company is a premier food distribution specialist seeking a dynamic and highly adaptable Sales Manager to lead and inspire its sales team. In this "playing manager" role, you will be responsible for directly driving sales while managing and developing a team of 5 to 6 members.
This role offers a clear path for growth: you will begin with a balanced 50/50 split between team management and outside sales. As you settle into the role and build your team, your responsibilities will transition to an 80/20 split, allowing you to focus heavily on higher-level management and strategic leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor a sales team of 5–6 individuals, focusing on continuous development and performance management.
- Strategic Sales: Actively manage key accounts and drive revenue growth within the food distribution sector.
- Problem Resolution: Act as the primary point of escalation for customer issues or complaints, utilizing strong problem-solving skills to handle situations calmly and professionally.
- Adaptable Management: Seamlessly balance direct sales efforts with people management, adapting to the needs of the branch and the team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of management experience, ideally within the food industry. (Note: Candidates with 2–3 years of management experience may be considered for an Assistant Manager position).
- Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency in Japanese or Chinese (Mandarin).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. This company is looking for an individual with a high sense of responsibility, flexibility to handle multiple tasks, and a proven track record of excellent people management.
- Industry Background: Experience in the food industry is highly welcomed; however, this company values soft skills and potential above all. Candidates from other industries with strong problem-solving and leadership traits are encouraged to apply.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
