Duties
- Manage daily operations of the home health office, including scheduling, patient intake, and documentation processes.
- Supervise healthcare staff, including nurses, administrative support personnel, and clinical coordinators, ensuring optimal team performance.
- Oversee medical records management, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Axxess & HHAExchange to maintain patient data and streamline workflows.
- Monitor fiscal activities including budgeting, medical billing, and financial reporting to ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare policies, licensing requirements, ACHC standards, and state/federal regulations governing home health services.
- Coordinate with physicians, insurance providers, and external agencies to facilitate patient care plans and utilization management.
- Lead human resources functions such as staff recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution to foster a positive work environment.
- Implement practice management strategies using software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix to optimize clinic operations and patient management.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives by analyzing operational metrics and implementing process enhancements for better patient outcomes.
Skills
- Extensive experience in medical office management with proficiency in EMR/EHR.
- Strong supervisory skills with a proven track record of managing healthcare teams effectively.
- Deep knowledge of healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance, ACHC standards, and health policy policies.
- Expertise in fiscal management encompassing budgeting, financial analysis, billing processes, and cost control strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting, communication, and documentation purposes.
- Excellent managerial communication skills to coordinate between clinical staff, patients, vendors, and external agencies.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and electronic health records systems to ensure accurate documentation.
- Ability to navigate managed care processes and utilization management procedures efficiently.
- Experience in dental or veterinary clinic environments is a plus but not required; critical care or hospital experience is highly valued.
- Strong customer service orientation with a focus on patient satisfaction and staff engagement.
