About This Role
As a Medical Office Secretary at NVRH within the Pulmonology Clinic, you will play a vital role in supporting daily operations and ensuring a positive patient experience. Working under the direction of the Practice Operations Director, you will manage a variety of administrative and clerical responsibilities while serving as a key point of contact between patients, providers, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide front-line customer service by answering calls, routing messages, and coordinating communication between patients and the care team
- Register and check out patients, ensuring accurate entry of demographics, insurance, and patient information while collecting co-pays and balances
- Support clinical operations by processing referrals, prior authorizations, medical records requests, and diagnostic orders
- Manage provider schedules, including appointment booking, rescheduling, cancellations, and follow-up on no-shows while supporting team-based care
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior customer service experience required; medical office experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in computer systems and electronic health records
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain calm under pressure
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
