Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. Duties
- Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
- Manage the financial close process, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls aligned with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Conduct cost accounting analysis to evaluate operational efficiency and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Supervise the management of accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other financial software to streamline processes and enhance data analysis capabilities.
- Oversee treasury functions including cash management, banking relationships, and regulatory reporting to optimize liquidity and financial stability.
- Lead a high-performing finance team by providing mentorship, training in technical accounting standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to governmental accounting standards for non-profit organizations or public entities when applicable.
Skills
- Extensive experience with IFRS, GAAP, SOX compliance, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting frameworks.
- Strong expertise in financial report writing, balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and account reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency in managing accounting systems such as Sage 300 & 500, Xero, Excel (including data analysis), and other financial software tools.
- Functional ERP hands on experience (Great Plains, Net Suite, SAP and audit control oriented)
- Demonstrated ability in cash management strategies, treasury management practices, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Deep understanding of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, general ledger accounting, regulatory compliance accounting, and international accounting standards.
- Proven leadership skills in managing accounting teams effectively while promoting professional development.
- Excellent analytical skills with experience in Excel data analysis for detailed financial insights.
- Knowledge of public sector or non-profit sector regulations related to financial management is a plus.

Pay: $80,914.50 - $97,445.41 per year
