The Abigail, a 24-bed residential care home for seniors in Redwood City, is looking for a full-time Medication Technician (Med Tech). Experience in Assisted Living or RCFE preferred.
Pay range is $23-$25/hour depending on experience. Willingness to pick-up extra shifts or work overtime if needed/requested.
The Med Tech is responsible for the safe administration of medications to senior residents in accordance with Title 22 compliance and physician orders, and checking vitals, monitoring medication dosage, observing and reporting side effects, and keeping rooms clean.
Responsibilities:
- Pour and pass prescribed medications to residents following physician orders
- Record medication administration and maintain accurate and timely documentation per Title 22 RCFE regulations
- Check vitals and monitor residents for medication side effects or adverse reactions and report changes immediately
- Assist with ordering refills and and coordination with pharmacies
- Receive and properly store/secure medications
- Conduct medication counts and ensure controlled substances are logged correctly
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and light housekeeping
- Observe and report changes in residents’ physical, mental, and emotional condition
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience working as a Med Tech in a senior living setting
- Experience in an RCFE or knowledge of Title 22 medication compliance a plus
- Experience working with individuals with dementia and memory care needs
- Negative TB test, and ability to pass a LiveScan criminal background check
- Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
