TALENT DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
Job Summary
We are looking for aTalent Development Specialist to design and guide the systems that help our team thrive by executing maximum capability, fortifying their strengths, and preparing them for greater responsibilities. In this role you will have the opportunity to study how work is performed, diagnose where capability is breaking down, find development opportunities, and create practical learning solutions that improve business results. Working closely with operational leaders, subject-matter experts, and HR, you will turn business needs and field knowledge into clear curricula, tools, processes, and development programs. You will lead training and professional development initiatives, oversee our Learning Management System, and evaluate team learning experience and performance collaboratively to achieve company goals. This role requires strong ability in strategic planning, solution-oriented analysis, and strong knowledge of learning principles with the ability to design effective curriculums, training and development programs proactively with minimal guidance.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with field and office leaders to understand business goals, observe work, identify current and future capability needs, and define after-training performance expectations.
- Develop engaging and effective employee training programs aligned with organizational goals using instructional design principles such as ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation).
- Facilitate selected workshops, orientations, and development sessions in English and Spanish; coach internal facilitators and subject-matter experts to deliver the content.
- Analyze performance data, compliance requirements, employee feedback, operational trends, and manager observations to identify root causes and prioritize high-value work.
- Build role-based curricula and learning paths using adult-learning and instructional-design principles.
- Create clear, practical materials such as facilitator guides, participant resources, e-learning modules, assessments, job aids, coaching tools, and manager reinforcement plans.
- Design friendly learning approaches for our diverse team, including field plumbing technicians, office support personnel and management team.
- Administer and improve the Learning Management System-LMS, maintain accurate training records, configure and publish learning content, manage assignments and access, and create useful reports and dashboards.
- Evaluate learning at multiple levels and design programs based on needs and outcomes of learning.
- Partner with HR on performance management and evaluation, succession planning, career paths, leadership capability, and other talent priorities.
- Stay current on useful learning practices and technology, testing new approaches based on business need and evidence.
- Facilitate best practice and tools to management team and collaborate with implementation of company processes.
- Research professional development opportunities, coordinate external trainers, trade schools, community colleges, industry associations, and other providers to supplement internal training efforts and expand learning opportunities.
- Manage project plans, budgets, vendors, compliance deadlines, and implementation details.
- Stay up to date on learning and development best practices and emerging trends keeping the company’s talent development efforts current and competitive.
- Ensure all training programs and materials comply with relevant labor regulations and company policies.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, Instructional Design, or a related field required.
- Minimum of five years of experience in active professional training and development, or talent development role, with a track record of designing and implementing successful employee development programs.
- Professional fluency in English and Spanish is required, including the ability to facilitate learning and create or adapt practical employee materials in both languages.
- Familiarity with the construction or skilled trades environments or similar industries is strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies with the ability to develop curricula, choose and implement appropriate training methods.
- Experience with e-learning platforms, content creation and online training modules.
- Ability to work with quantitative and qualitative information, establish useful KPIs, identify patterns, and explain what the evidence does - and does not - show.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects with a focus on program management, organization design, and HR sourcing strategies.
- Strong project discipline to define scope, sequence work, manage details, coordinate contributors, meet deadlines, and surface risks early.
- Ability to facilitate groups, interview employees and leaders, coach others, and earn credibility across levels without relying on authority.
- Strong ability to collect and analyze data to evaluate training effectiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, time-sensitive training, being proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, typing, writing, and analyzing data. Moving throughout the building and sites to perform daily tasks. Driving and traveling short and long distances. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
