EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Independently performs highly complex professional work; supervises a staff of professional workers at the SR-22 level; serves as a project or team leader (e.g., initiates highly complex projects, coordinates and directs a team of lower level professional workers, ensures accuracy and timely completion of work); or serves as a senior specialist requiring specialized technical knowledge in a particular subject matter area.This position is located in the Office of Elections, an agency attached to the Department of Accounting and General Services. The position serves as Chief of the Voter Services Branch and is responsible for election program activities relating to voter education, voter registration, media relations and other related activities for all State and concurrently held federal and county elections. The duties and responsibilities of this position include developing, revising, and implementing operational policies, standards, and procedures; evaluating program operations to ensure compliance with federal and State laws, rules and regulations related to elections; proposing and drafting appropriate legislation; planning, organizing, and establishing ballot counting centers for each county; determining and coordinating the distribution of election equipment and supplies required in each counting center; recruiting, selecting, and training election day workers for each counting center; and organizing and managing the production and distribution of statewide election results.
