Location: Lisle Campus
Position Summary: This position is responsible for the management of the Benedictine University eSport Program.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Develop an eSports program to include practice, team competitions, and team meetings.
2. Plan and coordinate all try-outs for the team, including recruitment, advertising, physical clearances, and scheduling of space.
3. Working with the Director of Student Activities and the Director of Admissions, develop a detailed recruitment plan that will allow the program to be competitively led within local, regional, and national alliances.
4. Creates a positive, winning culture and an exceptional student experience and ensures that the Benedictine University eSports program is administered with full commitment to programmatic standards and high levels of achievement.
5. Responsible for planning, development and direction of operating and fundraising budget within University and departmental procedures. Attendance at specified department fundraising events. Assist in the planning of team specific alumni events, as well as developing new opportunities through alumni networks. Work effectively with the Director of Student Activities to satisfy philanthropic and revenue generation outcomes.
Other Functions:
Maintain and update rosters and emergency contact information of all team members.
Maintain appearance and demeanor that communicates confidence, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Required Qualifications:
Education: High School Graduate/GED Required, Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Experience: Prior coaching experiences and experience in Athletics or related field is preferred. Is employable under Benedictine University employment policies.
Specific Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and administration. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. College gaming and gaming competition experience preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications: Yes. Organizational skills, interpersonal skills, budget management skills, and demonstrated supervisory skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to handle varying levels of stress while maintaining professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun/heat or cold weather.
Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand. Understand the speech of another person.
