Job Summary:
Oxbow Bar & Grill Bartender/Server will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests that are consistent and continually in accordance with the Luminary Hotel & Co. service standards and standards of Mainsail Lodging & Development. Oxbow Bar & Grill Bartenders will also be responsible for making alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by the recipe and delivering high quality food and drinks in a clean and friendly environment.

Essential Functions

General knowledge of cocktail crafting and mixology fundamentals

Curate guests’ bar experience by making recommendations

Knowledge of all beverages to include liquors, wines, and beers

Serve guests in an efficient courteous manner following the proper steps of service

Knowledge of proper cocktail making, as trained by Oxbow Bar & Grill

Have necessary tools to run the shift such as pen, corkscrew, bar tools, etc.

Ability to pair wines with meals

Understanding that the bar serves full food & drink menu and must be prepared to serve full coursed and/or shared meals to guests

Light food running when applicable, ability to carry plates that may be warm or hot

Knowledge of all menu items to include prep time, preparations, sauces, allergies, and accompaniments

Collect and process payment for food and beverages served

Follow standard TIPS practices to ensure safe and responsible serving of alcohol

Be aware of any specials, soups, drinks, and any items that are running low

Ability to handle station, or when situations arise, ability to let manager/supervisor know ahead of time of any issues that may affect the guest experience

Follow appropriate cash handling procedures as established by Accounting, and must be able to explain shortages and overages

Maintain a clean and orderly bar area

Clean glasses, utensils, coolers, and bar equipment

Perform other duties as management requests to service our guests.
Qualification Standards
Education & Experience
-
High School diploma or higher
-
Previous hospitality experience required
-
Minimum 2-year bartending experience in high volume bar or restaurant preferable in the Southwest, Florida area

Excellent customer service skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads

NOTICE: The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day. All employees must realize this fact and be always aware that it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift as business demands. In addition, this is a hospitality business, and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
