Position Summary
The Lead Estimator will be responsible for conducting all aspects of the estimating process from project solicitation through bid submission. This individual will analyze drawings and specifications, coordinate subcontractor pricing, prepare detailed cost estimates, and provide development skills to grow and strengthen the estimating team while working closely with project management and company leadership.
Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial, industrial, municipal, and general construction projects.
Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analyses.
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Develop comprehensive bid proposals and pricing strategies.
Maintain and enhance estimating databases and historical cost information.
Coordinate with project managers during project handoff.
Lead, mentor, and coordinate estimating staff.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits.
Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
Assist ownership with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
Ensure all bids are submitted accurately and on schedule
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in general construction estimating.
Strong knowledge of commercial and general construction methods.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Experience preparing complete project estimates from concept through final bid.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Required Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience using construction estimating software such as: Sage Estimating, Procore, Bluebeam Revu, Plan Swift, Heavy Bid, STACK, Contractor Forman, or similar construction estimating software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Digital takeoff software experience preferred

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
