Job Description
Tribe Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and recovery-oriented Registered Peer Recovery Specialist (RPRS) to provide individual, in-person Peer Recovery Support Services to adults living with mental health and/or substance use challenges. The Peer Recovery Specialist uses their lived experience in recovery to inspire hope, promote wellness, and assist individuals in achieving their personal recovery goals.
The RPRS provides one-on-one, community-based services that help individuals build recovery skills, strengthen natural supports, increase independence, and successfully access community resources. Services are delivered face-to-face in approved community settings and focus on empowering individuals to live meaningful and self-directed lives.
Requirements: Applicants must be a Registered Peer Recovery Specialist (RPRS) in Virginia.
Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS) and Peer Recovery Specialists (PRS) who are not registered are not eligible for this position.
All services are provided in person; remote or telehealth services are not part of this role.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one, in-person Peer Recovery Support Services in community settings.
- Use lived recovery experience to encourage hope, resilience, and personal recovery.
- Assist individuals in developing and achieving individualized recovery goals.
- Teach recovery skills, coping strategies, self-advocacy, and wellness practices.
- Support individuals in increasing independence and community integration.
- Assist individuals with accessing housing, employment, education, transportation, healthcare, food, benefits, and other community resources.
- Encourage participation in recovery support groups and community activities.
- Help individuals develop natural support systems and positive social connections.
- Maintain professional boundaries while serving as a recovery role model.
- Complete accurate, timely, and professional documentation for all services provided.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and required training.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to agency policies and ethical standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current Registered Peer Recovery Specialist (RPRS) credential in Virginia (Required).
- Applicants must be registered; CPRS and non-registered PRS applicants are not eligible.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Demonstrated personal experience with recovery and the ability to use lived experience professionally.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel throughout the service area.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment
- Services are provided face-to-face in community settings, including individuals' homes, community locations, healthcare facilities, recovery programs, and other approved service sites.
- Regular travel throughout the assigned service area is required.
- Flexible scheduling, including evenings or weekends, may be required based on participant needs.

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
