About the RoleSummit Construction & Development is seeking a Parts Specialist to support shop operations by sourcing and ordering parts for heavy equipment and fleet vehicles. This role is critical to maintaining efficient operations by ensuring parts are delivered on time and coordinating closely with mechanics, vendors, and dispatch.This position also manages the daily scheduling of the Parts Runner to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.Equipment includes brands such as Caterpillar, Kubota, John Deere, Roadtec, Wirtgen, Mack Trucks, Kenworth, International, RAM, GMC, plus more.
Key ResponsibilitiesOrder parts based on work orders, diagnostics, and mechanic requests
Source parts from vendors based on pricing, availability, and urgency
Build and maintain strong vendor relationshipsTrack orders and follow up on backorders or delays
Communicate updates to mechanics and shop leadershipCreate and manage purchase orders
Ensure parts are assigned to the correct job or equipmentSchedule and manage the daily route for the Parts Runner
Prioritize urgent pickups and deliveries
Coordinate efficient routing to minimize downtimeHandle returns, warranties, and core exchanges
Submit receipts and documentation to accounting
Role StructureThis role focuses on ordering and coordinationWorks alongside an Inventory Specialist who manages receiving, check in, and inventory control
Qualifications
Experience with heavy equipment or fleet parts required
Strong knowledge of truck and equipment components preferred
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Strong communication and organizational skills
High attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in construction or diesel equipment environments
Familiarity with purchase orders and work order systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high urgency setting
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
