Lead Preschool Teacher
Salary: Pay based on experience

Wild Roots Preschool is seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and experienced Lead Preschool Teacher to join our team. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator who values child-led learning, fosters independence, and creates a warm, engaging classroom environment where every child can thrive.
Experience with Montessori and/or Reggio Emilia philosophies is highly valued.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience as a Lead Preschool Teacher
- Experience with Montessori and/or Reggio Emilia teaching methods
- Associate's Degree (A.A.) in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units, including:
- Child Growth and Development
- Child, Family, and Community
- Principles and Practices (or Program & Principles)
- Curriculum
- Previous preschool teaching experience or an Associate's Degree in Child Development or a related field
- Fingerprint clearance through Community Care Licensing (or ability to obtain)
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Genuine passion for working with young children
- Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with children and families
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong classroom management and leadership abilities
- Professional, dependable, and self-motivated
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
As our Lead Preschool Teacher, you will:
- Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
- Observe children's developmental progress, learning styles, and social-emotional growth
- Present age-appropriate lessons and guide children through meaningful learning experiences
- Foster independence, curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking
- Implement Wild Roots Preschool's curriculum, philosophy, policies, and procedures
- Establish educational goals that inspire confidence, imagination, and a lifelong love of learning
- Maintain a well-organized, inviting classroom that supports child-led exploration
- Communicate regularly with families regarding children's development, progress, and any behavioral or learning concerns
- Document observations and student progress
- Collaborate with fellow educators to provide a high-quality educational experience
- Participate in ongoing professional development and remain current on best practices in early childhood education
- Serve as a positive role model for children, families, and fellow staff members
