Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Main Line Hoe Operator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will operate heavy machinery to assist in the efficient and safe completion of construction projects along main lines and utility corridors. Your expertise will help ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with all safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Operate main line hoes, excavators, dozers, backhoes, graders, loaders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and paving equipment with precision and safety.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.
- Assist with utility locating to accurately identify underground utilities before excavation or drilling activities commence.
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and company safety protocols diligently to maintain a safe work environment for all team members.
- Support horizontal drilling operations and other specialized construction tasks as needed to meet project specifications.
- Coordinate with team members to execute excavation, grading, paving, and site preparation activities efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and project progress for accountability and reporting purposes.
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators (including Caterpillar models), dozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and paving equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing basic repairs on construction machinery.
- Skilled in utility locating techniques using modern tools and technology to prevent underground utility damage.
- Valid commercial truck driving license with experience in operating large vehicles safely across various terrains.
- Comprehensive understanding of federal construction safety regulations and adherence to all safety protocols on-site.
- Construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with diverse tasks including horizontal drilling and paving operations.
- Ability to perform regular maintenance tasks such as fluid checks, minor repairs, and equipment inspections to ensure machinery longevity.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment operations and specifications is preferred but not mandatory.
