Duties
- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes and seasonal specials based on ingredient availability and customer preferences
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in all kitchen areas
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and portioning of ingredients
- Support the kitchen team during busy service hours by efficiently managing multiple orders and prioritizing tasks
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely delivery of meals
- Contribute to catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within the food service or restaurant industry
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques
- Experience working in fine dining environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food handling procedures, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards
- Background in dietary department or dietary aide work is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward serving guests and supporting colleagues
