Duties
- Lead and supervise store staff, including hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating performance to cultivate a motivated and skilled team.
- Oversee daily store operations such as inventory management, merchandising, pricing strategies, and stock replenishment to maximize sales opportunities.
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash handling procedures, and cashiering activities with accuracy and integrity.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed targets while ensuring excellent customer service standards are maintained.
- Coordinate purchasing decisions, inventory control, and stock organization to optimize product availability and reduce shrinkage.
- Conduct employee orientation sessions, training & development programs, and manage scheduling to ensure efficient shift coverage.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and foster positive relationships to enhance customer loyalty.
- Oversee payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, budgeting activities, and administrative duties to ensure operational efficiency.
- Utilize strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and communicate company policies clearly.
- Lead marketing initiatives within the store to promote products or special promotions effectively.
Requirements
- Proven management experience in retail or grocery store environments with supervising responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of retail math, sales management techniques, inventory management, pricing strategies, and merchandising principles.
- Excellent negotiation skills combined with experience in recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, training & development.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable for engaging diverse customer bases effectively.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, payroll processing, bookkeeping software and inventory control tools.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Exceptional organizational skills along with time management expertise to oversee shift management and daily operations smoothly.
- Effective communication skills including phone etiquette and customer service excellence.
