We are seeking a skilled Controls & Electrical Specialist to maintain and improve our plant-wide controls and electrical infrastructure. This role involves working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and distributed control systems. The ideal candidate will enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the reliability of our operations.
- Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues on manufacturing equipment, including PLCs and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Support the design, testing, and implementation of electrical and control systems, aiming for daily downtime reduction through proactive equipment evaluation.
- Enforce safety regulations, evaluate engineering proposals for electrical safety, and lead safety programs to minimize workplace accidents.
- Review and update electrical criteria, manage reporting personnel, and develop skill improvement plans for employees.
- Inspect equipment, report findings, modify diagrams, and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental policies.
- Estimate project costs and timelines, collaborate with departments to solve problems, and ensure timely and budget-compliant service delivery.
- Provide leadership to subordinates, fostering a team environment where employees contribute to exceeding customer expectations.
- Maintain regulatory compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, EPA, and TTB regulations, taking corrective action as needed.
- Associate's degree in applied sciences or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on electrical experience, including Allen Bradley PLC programming, hardware maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and ladder logic.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Experience in the Alcohol Beverage or CPG industry.
- Rockwell Automation controls training.
