Mission Statement: Unlocking potential while protecting your most critical assets.
Core Values: Care Trust Help (C.T.H.)
Summary of Position
The Asset Management Process Analyst owns how the asset management function runs. As NIC's AM organization operates as a digital-first function — governing platform, data, analysis, and multi-year planning across service lines rather than executing field work — this role defines, documents, and continuously improves the processes that make the function work.
This is a systems generalist seat that leads with process. The Analyst is strong in process architecture and continuous improvement, comfortable in analysis and planning, and able to think natively about how a workflow becomes an instrumented, product-supported capability rather than a paper procedure. On a small, high-leverage team, this person institutionalizes and improves the AM operating model, so it is durable, auditable, and no longer dependent on knowledge held in any one person's head.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process definition & governance — Map, document, version, and maintain AM's core workflows — Service Agreement (SA) management, service-pack standards, report ingestion, and capital planning — keeping them coherent as the platform and business evolve.
- Continuous improvement — Run structured improvement cycles rather than ad hoc tweaks, using measurement, bottleneck analysis, and root-cause methods to raise throughput, quality, and consistency across the function.
- Systems translation — Partner with the Director to translate process needs into platform capability — how an SA workflow, ingestion step, or planning routine should be instrumented and surfaced in the AM platform.
- Analysis & planning support — Contribute to condition-intelligence analysis and multi-year capital planning work, including condition-rating inputs, phasing, and portfolio metrics.
- Data stewardship — Uphold data hygiene and standards across the platform so that analysis and planning rest on trustworthy, auditable inputs.
- Standards & documentation — Serve as the steward of AM process documentation, ensuring service-line operators execute against AM-governed standards.
- Cross-functional coordination — Work with service-line operators who execute within AM-governed processes, and partner with adjacent functions as improvement work requires.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, operations, information systems, business, or a related field — or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to map, document, and improve business processes.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working directly with data.
- Record of learning an unfamiliar domain quickly and operating effectively in ambiguity.
- Excellent written communication and documentation discipline.
- Comfort in a digital-first environment where processes are instrumented and measured in software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Continuous improvement credential or training (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent) backed by real project experience.
- Exposure to facility, roofing, coatings, or asset / condition-management domains.
- Experience of bridging operational process and software or product teams (e.g., technical business analyst, systems analyst, operations analyst).
- Familiarity with capital planning, asset lifecycle, or reliability concepts.
Technical Skills
- AM's core processes are mapped, documented, and version-controlled in a single trusted location — the function no longer relies on undocumented knowledge held by individuals.
- Several measurable improvement cycles are completed, each with a defined baseline, a deliberate intervention, and a measured result.
- A working rhythm is established with the Director for translating processes into platform capability, with the Analyst credibly representing how the process should work in those discussions.
- The Analyst is a trusted, self-directed owner of the AM process layer, which able to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities without direction.
- The Analyst demonstrates fluency in the digital-first model: treating processes as things that get instrumented, measured, and productized, not merely run on paper.
