Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team in our brand new state of the art facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and a desire to support veterinary professionals in providing high-quality medical care to pets. This role involves assisting with various tasks in a veterinary clinic, ensuring the well-being of animals, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Duties
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and procedures.
- Provide animal restraint to ensure safety for both the animals and staff during treatments.
- Administer medications as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using veterinary terminology.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures.
- Care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff.
- Ensure cleanliness of the clinic, including exam rooms, kennels, and equipment.
- Provide front desk support as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing client communications.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of animal husbandry, physiology, anatomy, and critical care practices.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and medication administration protocols.
- Experience with animal handling techniques, including dog handling and equine experience is a plus.
- Ability to perform aseptic techniques and understand laboratory procedures.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.

Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour
