Summary:
- Are you passionate about helping individuals overcome substance use challenges and build healthier, more independent lives?
- We are seeking a compassionate and motivated CASAC-T to join our Residential Behavioral Health team. In this role, you'll work alongside an interdisciplinary team to provide counseling, recovery support, crisis intervention, and care coordination for adults living with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- This is an excellent opportunity for a counselor who enjoys building meaningful relationships, advocating for clients, and making a lasting impact within a supportive residential setting.
What You'll Do:
- Provide individual substance use counseling and recovery support.
- Facilitate relapse prevention, psychoeducational, and recovery-focused groups.
- Complete substance use assessments and individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct required 90-day treatment plan reviews and ongoing progress assessments.
- Manage a caseload of residents with current or past substance use disorders.
- Collaborate with Case Managers, Clinical Supervisors, and other members of the treatment team to coordinate care.
- Connect residents with detox, rehabilitation, outpatient treatment, medical providers, and community resources.
- Advocate for residents to ensure they receive the services needed to support long-term recovery.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the Foothold electronic health record.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and required trainings.
- Engage family members and other support systems when appropriate.
- Respond calmly and effectively during behavioral health or substance use crises.
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in residential setting preferred
- CASAC-T credential in good standing with OASAS.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, mental illness, or co-occurring disorders.
- Experience in residential treatment, supportive housing, behavioral health, or community-based programs.
- Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Trauma-Informed Care, and Recovery-Oriented practices.
- Experience using electronic health records (Foothold/AWARDS preferred).
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
