Transform technology into opportunity as a Cloud Engineer at GDIT. Shape what’s next for mission-critical government projects while shaping what’s next for your engineering career.
As a Cloud Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful by providing support to the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Ordnance Information System (OIS) and to provide technical expertise on a mission-critical program.
We’re looking for an engineer who is passionate about emerging technology, thrives in highly technical environments, and enjoys collaborating with top talent. If you bring strong experience in Linux/Windows administration, Cloud engineering, automation, and DevSecOps, you’ll find this role both challenging and rewarding.
You’ll be a key member of the OIS Cloud/DevSecOps team, contributing to a major Navy modernization effort that demands innovation, reliability, and engineering excellence. Your work will directly enhance mission readiness and operational effectiveness across the fleet.
Provide hands-on cloud engineering support across development, integration, testing, and operations for complex cloud-based applications.
Lead system engineering activities—including requirements analysis, architecture design, technical assessments, and interface standards development.
Partner closely with customer Product Owners to develop key engineering documentation such as system requirements, capability definitions, and interface control documents using GitLab Ultimate, Azure DevOps, and other architecture tools.
Serve as the primary technical liaison between NAVSUP OIS and the third‑party cloud broker (NAVAIR), supporting cloud operations, cost estimates, access controls, and resource planning.
Guide Agile and DevSecOps best practices across the portfolio (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban), including backlog management, governance, and continuous improvement.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, enforce tool and process standardization, and ensure compliance with Navy security standards.
Support installation, configuration, testing, and sustainment of operating systems, application stacks, and system management tools.
Strengthen system performance, availability, security, and resilience through sound engineering practices, documentation and automation.
