Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY: Administers and maintains the calibration management system. Performs and/or coordinates all calibrations/repairs to all mechanical and electronic calibrated equipment in the facility. Maintains calibration and certification records in accordance with Quality Management System requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Troubleshoot/calibrate/coordinate the repairs of all mechanical and electronic calibrated equipment in compliance with the Quality System.
Adheres to plant and department safety rules. Safely operates all equipment and tools. Identifies and reports safety problems, corrects where possible.
Works safely around hazardous equipment.
Develops and writes calibration and operating procedures for new and existing equipment.
Plans and schedules calibration activities to avoid production and inspection constraints.
Completes calibration logs and records. Administers calibration and certification
Follows written and verbal instructions with a minimum amount of direct supervision.
Utilizes machinery manuals for assistance with troubleshooting.
Performs quality and systems process audits.
Conducts the purchasing of repair parts and calibration activities.
Conducts scheduled corrosion testing and maintain records of results, including correlation studies.
Maintain records, including radiographic records, in accordance with required archival requirements.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Previous knowledge and working experience with electronic and mechanical equipment preferred.
Demonstrated ability to repair measuring tools and equipment tools as it relates to calibration. Demonstrated ability to coordinate repair of electronic equipment
Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and follow instructions on tech cards, blueprints, electronic schematics, and drawings required.
Knowledge of part inspection practices required; two years dimensional inspection preferred.
Knowledge of AMS 2750 Pyrometry requirements preferred.
Ability to program electronic controllers for alarms, setpoints, range, etc.
Ability to work in conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, for extended periods of time.
Above average computer skills required. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook. Previous database experience preferred.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to work on short notice (call-in) to support critical needs.
Familiarity with Gage Track Software
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates College Degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ experience troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating electronic equipment, as well as measuring equipment, preferred.
PHYSICAL DIMENSIONS:
Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, stoop, and reach to perform daily job functions. Ability to communicate, write and operate department’s equipment. Ability to exert up to 35 pounds of force to move objects. Ability to work in harsh conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals and varying temperatures.
