Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment and machinery. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of industrial equipment, farm machinery, and heavy vehicles. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your technical skills to keep operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and tractors using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, brake repairs, transmission servicing, hydraulic system troubleshooting, suspension adjustments, and tire service.
- Fabricate parts and components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specifications.
- Operate heavy machinery safely during repair or testing phases while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
- Use electrical experience to troubleshoot wiring issues, sensors, and electronic control modules in industrial equipment and automotive systems.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed for compliance and future reference.
- Assist with assembly of new equipment or machinery components ensuring proper fitment and functionality.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
- Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with OEM parts and diagnostic procedures.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and soldering.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, air brake systems, transmissions, HVAC systems, and diesel engine repair.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, forklifts, cranes, tractor-trailers safely and efficiently.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and vehicle maintenance tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members.
