Job Summary:
This position contributes to data collection and analysis; the production of reports, dashboards, visualizations, and publications; and the management and fulfillment of data requests via the ticketing system. The role requires strong SQL skills for writing complex queries, optimizing performance, and interpreting data models across enterprise databases, including proficiency with Oracle database concepts and schema design. Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) are required for building and delivering enterprise reports and dashboards. The position supports institutional and enrollment management goals by implementing, automating, and maintaining reporting systems and data pipelines, improving processes, and delivering accurate, timely insights to stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
1. Manage data collection, analysis, and report development including development of datasets, dashboards, and publications using Power BI/SSRS.
2. Manage customer requests for information, triage and fulfill via the IR service portal; document requirements, sources, and definitions.
3. Responsible for enterprise reporting development using Power BI and SSRS; designs, develops, and maintains datasets, paginated reports, dashboards, and data models aligned to institutional standards.
4. Work with institutional stakeholders to gather, understand, and define business requirements.
5. Apply appropriate statistical techniques; ensure reproducibility of methods. to provide reports to, and answer questions from stakeholders.
6. Identifies and resolves production and/or applications development problems related to reporting data flows, queries, and scheduled report delivery.
7. Uses data and system analysis to identify opportunities to improve and automate business processes and collaborate with internal stakeholders in developing recommendations on these process improvements.
8. Writes, optimizes, and maintains complex SQL queries and stored procedures across Oracle and SQL Server; implements and monitors reporting data pipelines; creates validation checks and audit trails.
9. Maintains current and accurate knowledge of data storage and management best practices.
10. Designs and maintains reporting semantic layers/data models that meet requirements efficiently and reliably.
11. Track project performance, specifically to analyze successful completion of short and long-term goals.
12. Updates and maintains the institutional reporting calendar; sequences and tracks cross-department deliverables; ensures on-time publication and compliance submissions
13. Coordinates access provisioning for reporting content and data sources in collaboration with IT/IR; manages security roles for reports and data models consistent with FERPA and institutional policy.
14. Develops and enforces reporting style guides and visualization standards; reviews and validates enterprise reports prior to release for accuracy, accessibility, and consistency.
15. Ability to manage and manipulate data with accuracy and precision.
16. Ensures reporting and analytics projects are completed on time and within estimated effort.
17. Assist with ad hoc data collection, data analysis, and report development.
18. Develops and maintains documentation and standards.
19. Maintain internal data project manuals.
20. Develop and maintain technical documentation for internal use and end-user documentation for training purposes
21. WCAG aligned report and dashboard design; color-blind-safe palate; alt-text and narrative summaries
22. Maintain collaborative partnership with stakeholders to gather requirements for projects and openly communicate progress
23. Collaborate with internal IT, ERP, and IR team to share best practices and user knowledge to allow redundancy for troubleshooting and other technical needs
24. Cross-training on Power BI, SSRS, and SQL fundamentals for data consumers.

- Bachelor's degree required; preferred fields include data analytics, statistics, information systems, computer science, or related.
- Two or more years of experience in data analysis and institutional reporting required.
- Advanced SQL for complex query writing, optimization, and data modeling across Oracle and SQL Server/T-SQL
- Proficiency with PowerBI and SQL Servier Reporting Services (SRSS) for building enterprise dashboards and paginated reports
- Strong understanding of relational database concepts and reporting data models
- Ability to design and maintain reporting datasets, implement data quality checks, and document lineage definitions
- FERPA compliant handling of confidential data; role-based access and report/data-level security practices
- Python for data wrangling /automation is preferred
- SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or other ETL tools are preferred
- Experience with accreditation/compliance reporting (E.g., IPEDS, Perkins, HLC) and campus survey analytics is preferred
- Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate technical findings for non-technical audiences
- Strong organization and time management; ability to manage multiple deadlines for stakeholders
- High attention to detail and data accuracy; commitment to documentation standards
- Collaborative, customer-service orientation ability to work independently and in teams

Grade:
Salary Range: $63,190 - $75,892
