Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Assist with patient assessments and document findings
- Administer medication and assist with tube feedings as directed by healthcare professionals
- Provide patient service and support, ensuring their comfort and safety
- Assist with catheter care and other basic medical procedures
- Monitor patients for changes in condition and report any concerns to the nursing staff
- Maintain a clean and organized patient environment
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a nursing assistant or in a similar role is preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is beneficial
Skills:
- Proficiency in using healthcare systems and electronic medical records
- Knowledge of basic medical procedures, such as taking vital signs and administering medication
- Ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team
- Understanding of patient privacy laws and regulations
