Manages: All site operations and employees, directly and indirectly.
Job Overview
The NJ Plant Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the Asbury facility. This role oversees production manufacturing, EHS compliance, supply chain coordination, maintenance, staffing, quality, inventory control, capital projects, and continuous improvement to support site and corporate objectives.
The Plant Managerpartnerswithcorporate leaders and site teamsin operations, safety, quality, supply chain,HR, technical services, sales, and marketing to improve performance, strengthen communication, and supportbusinessgoals.
Roles & Responsibilities
· Operations and Plant Performance
o Oversee all site operations, including production, maintenance, logistics, inventory, and staffing.
o Ensure production schedules support customer demand, quality standards, and on-time delivery goals.
o Coordinate raw material planning with suppliers and corporate supply chain.
o Ensure inventory, WIP, finished goods, and ERP records are accurate and controlled.
o Plan and manage maintenance activities, capital projects, and annual capital requests.
o Drive continuous improvement through regular plant engagement and process improvement projects.
· Safety, Compliance, and Work Environment
o Maintain a safe, clean, compliant, and productive work environment.
· Financial, Customer, and Business Support
o Respond promptly to internal and external customer inquiries.
o Review financial performance and address concerns related to cost, profitability, and plant efficiency.
o Collaborate with sales and marketing on pricing impacts tied to manufacturing costs.
o Prepare or contribute to monthly operations reports and dashboards.
o Attend training, seminars, or trade shows as needed.
· People Leadership and Communication
o Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing plant team.
o Partner with HR on employee relations, recruiting, retention, performance, and staffing needs.
o Maintain clear two-way communication between plant employees and corporate leadership.
o Share best practices with peers across other operating sites.
Qualifications and ExperienceIdeal Candidate Profile
· 10+ years of manufacturing, production, or distribution experience; carbon/graphite experience preferred.
· Strong leadership presence with the ability to build teams, collaborate, and drive accountability.
· College or graduate-level education preferred.
· Working knowledge of business finance, including P&L and balance sheet concepts.
· Organized, analytical, decisive, and able to prioritize key objectives.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong problem-solving, follow-up, negotiation, and process improvement skills.
· Ability to work effectively across functions, cultures, and levels of the organization.
· High integrity, humility, positive attitude, and self-direction.
· Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as needed.
Working Conditions
This position works primarily in a manufacturing plant environment and may require time on the production floor, occasional work outside standard business hours, and travel as needed.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to move through a manufacturing facility, stand or walk for extended periods, and comply with required plant safety protocols.
Pay: $175,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year
