Description:
The Tooling Maintenance Technician is responsible for preparing, inspecting, and maintaining production
tooling to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations across both facility locations. This role plays a critical
part in tooling readiness, documentation, and small-scale component fabrication through CNC operation. A
proactive mindset, strong organizational skills, and mechanical aptitude are essential
Requirements:
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Tooling Preparation, Cleaning, maintaining, and Staging
- Tooling Inspection & Documentation Maintaining accurate tooling condition records and service
history logs.
- Operate CNC machinery to manufacture or modify components such as face plates, connector
plates, and other tooling-related items as needed.
- Collaboration & Support with production
- Perform routine audits of tooling setups to ensure alignment with production standards.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Experience in plastic extrusion tooling
- Familiarity with die/sizer setups
- Proficient in using measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
- Experience with ERP or tooling management software.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation
- Proficient in reading blueprints, setup sheets, and mechanical drawings
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT (TECHNICAL CERTIFICATION PREFERRED)
- 2+ YEARS IN TOOLING, MAINTENANCE, OR CNC MACHINING ROLE (EXTRUSION OR PLASTICS INDUSTRY PREFERRED)
- PROFICIENT IN READING BLUEPRINTS, SETUP SHEETS, AND MECHANICAL DRAWINGS
- BASIC TO INTERMEDIATE CNC MILLING MACHINE EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a shop-floor environment
