Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Controls Technician to join our dedicated maintenance and engineering team. This role involves installing, troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining sophisticated control systems used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) applications across various industrial and manufacturing environments. Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC control systems including sensors, actuators, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to ensure efficient system performance.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues related to low voltage and high voltage systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Maintain and repair control panels, schematics, and wiring diagrams utilizing AutoCAD and other technical documentation.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on distributed control systems (DCS), vision inspection systems, and other automation equipment to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret schematics, perform system upgrades, and implement modifications aligned with manufacturing needs.
- Perform field service tasks including installation of sensors, calibration of instruments, and testing of calibration standards.
- Support the integration of control systems with manufacturing machinery such as CNC machines and other automated equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards related to high voltage work and industrial electrician practices.
- Assist in troubleshooting complex issues involving Calypso software or other control platform interfaces.
- Provide exceptional customer service by effectively communicating technical information to clients and internal teams.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical systems, and industrial maintenance practices.
- Proven experience with electrical systems including low voltage, high voltage, and E & I (Electrical & Instrumentation).
- Strong understanding of schematics interpretation, calibration procedures, and the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers (PLCs) as well as distributed control systems (DCS).
- Familiarity with vision inspection systems, sensors, calibration techniques, and automation software such as Calypso.
- Ability to read technical drawings using AutoCAD; experience with schematics for industrial controls is essential.
- Hands-on experience with CNC machinery operation or maintenance is advantageous.
- Knowledge of military standards or practices related to industrial controls enhances safety compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer-focused approach to field service tasks.
- Strong electrical experience complemented by mechanical knowledge for comprehensive troubleshooting.
