Responsibilities

- Support the kitchen team in food handling, food safety sanitizing procedures, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Assist with meal preparation for high-volume production, catering events, or daily service, ensuring timely delivery of quality dishes.
- Operate dishwashing equipment efficiently to ensure all utensils, cookware, and dishes are sanitized and ready for use.
- Follow food safety management protocols to uphold sanitation standards and prevent cross-contamination.
- Support kitchen staff in menu planning and food presentation to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all health regulations and safety guidelines.
Skills
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with specialized food service environments.
- Strong culinary skills including knife techniques, food preparation, and cooking methods such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food handling.
- Experience in fine dining or high-volume restaurant settings that require quick thinking and efficient multitasking.
- Knowledge of food safety procedures, sanitizing practices, and food industry standards for cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to support colleagues during busy service periods.
- Familiarity with catering services and serving in various food service settings is advantageous.
