Boeing Commercial Airplanes is hiring an Expert Level Automation and Robotic Programmer to support a position on our Production Engineering team in Everett, Renton, or Auburn Washington. A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out in the factory, interacting with mechanics, safety, and equipment services, and directly supporting the production system.
In Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity. Candidates should possess knowledge and technical expertise with ABB RobotStudio, ABB robots, KUKA robots, Fanuc robots, etc., automation control systems, design, machining, and robot cell programming.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Consults with internal and external stakeholders to develop technical requirements for numerical control and manufacturing processes.
- Identifies equipment and approaches, ensures accommodation of numerical control programming and resolves manufacturing or production process concerns.
- Manages implementation of new and revised computing applications for design, machining or inspection systems.
- Trains and mentors others.
- Works under consultative direction.
Required Skills:
- Experience with high-speed machining in a production environment
- Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings
- 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience as machinist/robotics with shop floor programming skills
- Experience in CAD/CAM software (preferred CATIA, Vericut simulation, MasterCAM, Robot Studio, CENIT, etc )
- Certification or training in automation or robotics
- Experience working in a production environment
- Experience with 3D modeling
