Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling, credit card payments, and returns
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos
- Upsell products and suggest additional items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits
- Manage inventory by assisting with stock replenishment and participating in regular stock checks
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when handling inquiries or placing orders via phone or online channels
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering preferred, especially within grocery stores or similar environments
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in multiple languages (bilingual skills are a plus)
- Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail math concepts to support store operations
- Ability to perform cashier duties efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure
- Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and active listening abilities
