GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor, a Porter is responsible for cleaning the building, helping with grounds, and maintaining the facility. This is a part-time position, we have day, evening, and night positions available.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure the facility is attractive and clean, by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintaining upkeep of assigned areas and equipment.

Operate motorized and non-motorized equipment.

Record and report all needed repairs; repair as directed.

Ensure the building and property is secure, and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor, when necessary.

Replace soap, paper towels and other supplies.

Plan and execute routine set-ups, breakdowns and installations for facility’s programming needs.

Strip and wax floor and shampoo rugs as needed.

Follow YMCA policies and procedures.

Actively participate in training sessions, designated meetings, and special events.
- Ability to remain standing and moving for extended periods of time

Indoors and outdoors in normal environment with some exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations and temperature changes

Mobility within the building including movement from floor to floor and outside the building

Ability to lift up to 50lbs. on a repetitive basis

May handle human body fluids and chemicals as part of the daily operational duties.
EFFECT ON END RESULT:

The YMCA will meet or exceed all local, state and federal safety guidelines in regard to facilities, grounds and equipment.

The YMCA will have an effective long term capital replacement and project plan in place.

The YMCA facilities will be updated and expanded to meet the needs of a growing population.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrate a superior working knowledge of assigned area, and or have a general working knowledge of the facility.

Must be able to create and maintain positive relationships with other staff, parents, participants, and volunteers within assigned activity.
